Delete your account

Good Morning: Couples Notes, by GM Labs LLC

In the app

  1. Open Good Morning and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm.
  4. Confirm a second time. Because this cannot be undone, the app asks twice on purpose.

There is no waiting period and no support ticket. The deletion happens the moment you confirm, and it cannot be undone.

If you can't open the app

Email jason@gmlabs.app from the address you signed up with, and we will delete the account for you within 30 days. Sending from the address on the account is how we confirm the request is really yours.

What is deleted

Permanently, and straight away:

  • Your account and sign-in credentials
  • Your email address, username and display name
  • Every message you have sent and every message you have received
  • Your connection to your partner, and any pending requests
  • Your streaks, both personal and shared
  • Your Streak Saves and any referrals you made or received
  • Any promo codes you redeemed
  • Your push notification tokens, so no further notifications can reach you

This affects your partner too. Deleting your account removes the messages between the two of you from their history as well, not just yours. They keep their account, their streak record and every message exchanged with anyone else.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Feedback you sent us: kept, but detached from you. The account link is removed so the message can no longer be traced back to your identity.
  • Anonymous usage statistics: counts and events with no message content and nothing that identifies you. Retained indefinitely in aggregate.
  • Purchase records: if you ever subscribed, Apple or Google holds the transaction record under their own policies, and we retain the minimum needed for tax and accounting obligations. We never see or store your card details.
  • Encrypted backups: deleted data can persist in routine database backups for up to 30 days, after which those backups expire and the data is gone for good.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Removing Good Morning from your phone leaves your account and your messages on our servers. Use Settings → Delete Account before you uninstall, or email us afterwards.
