Privacy Policy

Good Morning (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a private app for couples to send each other one short affirmation a day. We built it to be quiet and personal, and we treat your data the same way. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We only collect what the app needs to work:

• Account information: your email address (used to sign in, recover your account, and send you service messages about your account, such as a partner request waiting for you) and the username you choose.
• Profile details you enter: your display name, your partner's first name, your delivery-time preference, and your time zone.
• Your messages: the affirmations you write and send to your partner. These are stored so they can be delivered to your partner and shown in your shared history.
• Connection information: the partner you connect with (by username) so we can deliver your messages to the right person.
• Push notification tokens: a device token so we can notify you when a message arrives or a partner request comes in. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google depending on where you installed the app; we never see or store your payment card details.

We do not collect your phone number, your contacts, your location, or your device's advertising identifier.

How We Use Your Information

• To deliver your messages to your partner at the time you choose.
• To connect you with your partner and manage connection requests.
• To send push notifications you've enabled.
• To maintain your streaks, history, and account across your devices.
• To provide and manage subscriptions.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with data brokers, or track you across other apps or websites. We may use or share aggregated or de-identified information (including message content with anything that identifies you or your partner removed) for research and to improve the app. We will never sell or share your information for advertising purposes.

This website counts page visits and taps on the download buttons using PostHog. Those counts are anonymous, use no cookies, and are never joined to an app account.

A Note on AI

The daily writing prompts you see are generated with the help of an AI service. Your messages are not used to generate them: prompt generation uses only generic, non-personal information.

How Your Information Is Shared

We share information only with the service providers that make the app function, and only as needed:

• Supabase: secure database and backend hosting where your account and messages are stored.
• Expo, with Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android: to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Apple and Google: to process subscriptions through the App Store and Google Play.

Your messages are delivered to one other person: the partner you choose to connect with. We do not share them with anyone else. A limited number of authorized people at GM Labs can access message content where it is necessary to run the service: to look into suspected misuse or a report of abuse, to diagnose a technical problem, or where the law requires it. We do not read your messages out of curiosity.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all your stored messages at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete Account. This erases your data from our servers. You may also email us at the address below and we will delete it for you.

Security

Your data is stored on managed, access-controlled infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

Children's Privacy

Good Morning is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
